According to Merrick Garland, the Department of Justice
has requested the court to unseal Trump's search warrant.
The US Justice Department (DoJ) has sought a judge to unseal the search warrant obtained by the FBI
before inspecting Donald Trump's Florida resort, according to Merrick Garland on Thursday.
The attorney general announced the request at a hurriedly organised
justice department press conference, citing "strong public interest in this subject."
The report comes after an FBI raid on the former US president's Mar-a-Lago property earlier this week.
This search was conducted as part of an investigation
into whether Trump stole secret documents from the White House.
