Late on Friday, Comedy Central announced the passing of 32-year-old rising comic Teddy Ray

Teddy Ray was best known for his work on the MTV comedy clip show "Messyness." Sgt.

Brandi Swan of the Riverside County Sheriff's Office confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that deputies responded

to a complaint regarding a fatality at a private property in Rancho Mirage, California, at about 10 a.m. on Friday.

The comedian, actor, and writer's passing was independently confirmed by

the Riverside County Coroner's Office, but no further information was given.

Swan told the newspaper, "The cause of death is unknown," adding that the Riverside County coroner's office is in charge of the inquiry.
