Eric Schmitt wins Mo. GOP Senate primary

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt defeated a former governor

two U.S. Representatives on his way to the Republican nomination for one of Missouri’s two U.S. Senate seats.

Missouri’s senior Senator, Republican Roy Blunt, is retiring at the end of his term.

Schmitt will face Trudy Busch Valentine, an heiress to the Anheuser-Busch brewing dynasty.

Busch Valentine defeated Lucas Kunce in a close contest in the Democratic Primary.

Schmitt received a bit of strange publicity on the eve of the election when former President Donald Trump hedged his bet

announced he would be endorsing “ERIC”

with the oddity being one of the other challengers was Missouri’s disgraced former governor
