Falcons, Packers also had interest in new Panthers WR Laviska Shenault

The third-year wideout was acquired by the Panthers on Monday night through a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In exchange for two draught picks—a 2023 seventh-round pick and a 2024 sixth-round pick—Carolina will acquire Duval's 2020 second-round pick.

Fortunately for them, they completed the trade before one or more additional interested parties could do so.

According to ESPN NFL analyst Dan Graziano, the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers were two of those potential parties.

Shenault wasn't a complete failure in Jacksonville, though. Between 2020 and 2021, he caught 121 passes for a respectable 1,219 yards and five touchdowns.

Though the 6-foot-1, 227-pound pass catcher frequently flashed eye-opening physical features throughout his stellar collegiate career, he didn't focus on them.

Punter Johnny Hekker of the Carolina Panthers has already switched from wearing the No. 6 to the No. 10 for QB Baker Mayfield this summer.

Will he be carrying out the same action for Laviska Shenault, who wore No. 10 for the Jacksonville Jaguars?Nope.

Hekker won't be getting the third number, which could have been a record for a player who hadn't even taken a snap with his squad yet.
