After playing a supporting role in The Lucky Stiff (1949), Patton decided to stop acting.

After getting married to automobile executive Cruse W. Moss in 1949, Patton moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan.

They were married for 69 years, till his passing in 2018, and had three children together.
