White Sox manager Tony La Russa out indefinitely with medical issue

1 September (UPI) The Chicago White Sox revealed that manager Tony La Russa will be sidelined

indefinitely due to an unidentified medical condition.

The White Sox announced on Wednesday that interim manager Miguel Cairo will remain as the team's bench coach.

La Russa will have more tests done by his personal doctors

in Arizona after having a medical assessment on Wednesday morning.

The White Sox manager, who is 77 years old, was present for

pregame festivities on Tuesday but was not present for the

White Sox' 9-7 loss to the Kansas City Royals in Chicago.

On Wednesday at Guaranteed Rate Field, the White Sox defeated the Royals 4-2 in game two of the series.
